Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy

  • Prayers of joy for Colleen and her family, as her first grandchild, Catherine, was born Thursday!
  • Kymmie also gave thanks for time with friends, Weldon and Heather, over the weekend,
  • And we all give thanks for much needed rain for our area.

Concerns

  • We pray for Maui – for the fire victims, their loved ones, for those left to rebuild and for the first responders working through the disaster.
  • We pray also for California as they face their first hurricane in a lifetime. (80+ years)
  • As school has started, we pray for the students, parents, teachers and all the other staff. Praying for a good year for all.
  • We continue to pray for our pantry volunteers – which we need more of in these hotter months.
  • Continue to also pray for all all our partners in disaster relief and for more work teams as we have only one more team scheduled for 2023.
  • Pray also for the Homeless Coalition and the other non-profits in our community trying to help vulnerable populations.
  • Pray also for those needing rest, including Pastor Devon.
  • Pray also for Cheryl’s brother in Georgia.
  • Pray for continued healing for Cheryl’s back.
  • Pray for cooler weather, especially on Thursdays!
  • World peace and peace for each of us during the coming months.

Traveling Mercies

  • For all those traveling.

Psalmtember!

A prayer opportunity is coming in September. It’s called “psalmtember“. It’s the opportunity to read the book of Psalms each day. Because September has 30 days, it’s easy to break the 150 Psalms into 5 sets of 30. Some have used this as an opportunity to be inspired by the Psalms – in art, activity, prayer…  We could even form a group to pray through this if there are folks interested, contact the church office.

On the website for the church, there is a way to submit your prayer requests. If this is something you would be interested in doing, please do so. The prayer requests are emailed to Pastor Devon once they are submitted.
