Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy

  • Cheryl is thankful for time talking to people about God.
  • Devon is grateful she completed a large grant.
  • Congrats to Alison on her new home! She’ll sign her lease on Tuesday and begin moving immediately.
  • Cheryl is also celebrating being debt-free beginning in May.
  • Thanks for Rich and Karen.
  • Happy birthday to Rich, Jackie, and Timbo.
  • And we’re all grateful for a bigger table where all feel welcomed, included, and loved.

Concerns

  • Pray for Barbara for the loss of her beloved husband, Fred. Also the loss of their dog, Chloe.
  • Wendy asked for prayer for her and Tom’s nephew, Joey and his wife, Kayla. They had a little boy, River, this week. He’s in the NICU with significant complications.
  • Cheryl asks for prayer for Sandy, from Jacaranda Place, who is having a hard time.
  • Prayers for the Middle East and for all the various leaders to be wise enough not to escalate the war.
  • For Kymmie’s mom’s health as she is continuing to decline.
  • Pray also for Mary and the boys.
  • Prayers for Josephine.
  • For Kymmie’s knee, which has decided to act up for no apparent reason.
  • Continue to also pray for Bud and Donna.
  • For Cheryl’s doctor appointment on Friday to go well.
  • Cheryl has concerns for Alison and herself regarding transportation from Jacaranda Place to church on Sundays.
  • Pray also that we all remember, “there but for the grace of God go I.”
  • For all those struggling: the homeless, hungry and hurting; those fighting addiction and for their mental health; for our veterans; for those impacted by hate and exclusion; and for those serving and working for reconciliation for any of these.
  • For all the war and violence – for peace around the world!
  • For peace in our own lives and for our world.

  • Pray for safe travels for all for 2024!
