Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy

  • Cheryl expressed gratitude and asked for prayer for pantry clients and volunteers.
  • John gave thanks for a new great granddaughter, and for the ability for his granddaughter to travel to be with the new arrival.

Prayers of Concern

  • Maralee asked for healing for her mom, Ramona, who is in the hospital with congestive heart failure and is experiencing shortness of breath and lower oxygen levels. She is disoriented and delusional from the medication. Also for her dad who is struggling as a caregiver and for her sister, the rock of the family.
  • Gale requests continued prayers for Julie, who is home from the hospital, but is in pain and is exploring treatment options.
  • Prayers for Devon and Emma’s travel and that they are safe and warm.
  • Wendy expressed broken heartedness and the need for prayer in regard to the tragedy in the Colorado LGBTQ night club late Saturday night – on the Eve of Transgender Day of Remembrance. But also gratitude for the persons who confronted the gunman and prevented further violence.
  • Prayer for an 18 year old who is in NY, finding their way own for the first time.
  • For June, a friend of Deb’s.
  • For Deb’s sister, Karen and Tom Jr in nursing homes.
  • Kymmie asked for prayers for a client with ovarian cancer.
  • Rick and Kymmie also request prayer for the completion of their soon-to-be new home – a new beginning for their family.
  • Cheryl requested all her usual prayer topics: for housing, finances, her family, and for world peace.
  • For those struggling with mental illness, and for those that care for them.
  • For the people of Ukraine and Russia.
  • Pray also that we continue to live into our mission of feeding people physically, spiritually, mentally, and emotionally.
  • And for all the unspoken prayers on our hearts.

Prayers for Those Traveling

  • Please pray for safe travels for Emma and Devon.
  • And safety for returning snowbirds.
On the website for the church, there is a way to submit your prayer requests. If this is something you would be interested in doing, please do so. The prayer requests are emailed to Pastor Devon once they are submitted.
