Dear Wintergarden Community near and far,

As many of you may have heard, the anticipated shutdown of the SNAP and WIC programs at the end of this month has created deep uncertainty and anxiety for many families in our community. Food insecurity is already a growing concern in Charlotte County, and we know that this change will only increase the need for support.

Our Food Pantry remains committed to serving our neighbors during this challenging time. As the number of families seeking assistance continues to grow, we are asking you to help in one of the ways you can. Check your pantry to see if you have items that you don’t eat anymore and are able to donate; purchase items to donate to the food pantry; give a financial contribution to help purchase food; contact your representatives to express your concerns; and/or come and volunteer to help out.

If you are able to contribute financially, you can choose a one time donation or you could join the monthly giving circle. Click HERE to make a financial contribution. This link takes you to the new non-profit that Wintergarden is launching–Nurturing the Neighborhood on Wintergarden.

We will be accepting food donations this Saturday from 10am-2pm, every Sunday from 8am-12pm, and every Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 8am-10am.

The growing demand means we also need more volunteers to help sort, pack, and distribute food. If you are able to lend a hand, please sign up by clicking on the link below.

Thank you for your continued generosity, compassion, and commitment to loving our neighbors. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in this critical time of need.
