Dearest Wintergarden Faith Community,

As we continue to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world, let us do so with love and hope. Our weekly email of prayers is a way for us to share the prayers shared in worship, through the food pantry, and our various other ministries with a larger group. Due to privacy needs we will only include the first names of people and not last names. We also know this list will not be perfect and in need of constant updating. We will review this every week and be mindful of how we are being asked to pray for one another, our community, our country, and our world.

Blessings,
Pastor Devon

Prayers of Joy

  • We all celebrate that Alison is 2 – 3 weeks away from moving into Jacaranda! She’s excited to settle into her new place!
  • Jane’s daughter-in-law came home to find a neighbor’s house on fire and managed to help get them to safety, so that’s a definite praise for everyone’s safety.
  • Cheryl is grateful for added physical therapy for her shoulder.
  • We’re glad also all the green we saw in the sanctuary and hope everyone had a fun St. Patrick’s Day.

Concerns

  • Maralee is with her sister, Lisa, in NC as their father is there in the hospital fighting covid. Please pray for them all.
  • A few days ago a local 3 year named Dakota died from a pool drowning. Please pray for all who loved Dakota and for the safety of all those littles out there in our community.
  • Pray for Ruthie, a food pantry volunteer mainstay. She was in a serious car accident. Her car was totaled and reports she’s sore, but okay.
  • Josie asked for prayers for Amber and Matt as they navigate a high risk pregnancy. Pray for mom and baby’s health and safety.
  • Pam has a friend, Bunny, who has pneumonia. Prayers for healing, please.
  • Pray for Jeff and Jeffrey as they struggle with the loss of their wife/mother.
  • Kymmie asked for prayer for Mary and her kids.
  • Pray for Barbara and Fred as he faces both dialysis and rehab from his hip surgery.
  • Pray for Michelle. She’s Wendy’s Virginia bestie and Sunday was the anniversary of her husband’s passing, which is always hard for her. And also for all those who have anniversaries of the loss of loved ones.
  • Pray also for Wendy’s friend, Sam, as she continues to do rehab for repeated concussions. She’s in her 20’s and newly graduated from seminary and teaching middle school and so also needs to slow down and give recovery time.
  • Pray for Kymmie and family as they work through what is the best way to care option for their ailing mom.
  • Pray also for Bobby, Cheryl’s PT person as his father is in the hospital.
  • Jim asked we pray we all move away for words that divide like, “them,” in the context of “them vs us” .
  • Continue to also pray for Bud and Donna.
  • For Cecilia’s healing.
  • For Michael. He and his sons did our framing. He had a stroke and a motorcycle accident.
  • For Rick and Kymmie.

    • For Cheryl’s peer advisor – that there is consistency in that role.
    • For Ken, Cheryl’s peer advisor. He has esophagus cancer.
  • Pray for more food for the food pantry. Numbers are up but not food donations.
  • Pray for those who fight addiction and for their mental health.
  • For those struggling with financial issues.
